Today I went to the University of Manchester open day, one of the talks I went to was for the business of fashion so I had to look the part! here is my outfit hope you like it..

levi cutoffs - ebay (buy similar 'here')

lipstick - topshop 'beaknik' (buy 'here')

These Levi cutoffs were only £15 from ebay (around £35 in Urban Outfitters) and I am obsessed with them, since the cutoffs are super short I wanted cover up on the top, so to balance the outfit out I wore this blue and white patterned chiffon blouse/shirt form Primark and I thought the blue picked out the blue in the shorts. Another colour the pulls the outfit together was gold (hoops, buttons on shirt and belt buckle).  The belt is my mums and its my favourite belt by far it seems to go with everything, I have also been loving gold hoops I have these and the same in slightly smaller and I cannot take them off!! To finish off I wore these cute little plimsolls from Primark so that I didn't over do it.

I had a great day at the university and the fashion courses sounds amazing!

Hellooo! Here are some of the items I have been lusting after so far this month... My favourite piece is definitely the Nasty Gal 'Eternal Sunshine Dress' I think the name really sums it up,when you look at it you can't help but think of sunshine and it just generally makes me happy - plus the pastel yellow would look amazing against tanned skin on holiday. I am also obsessed with the Monki jumper and I think it would go really well with the jeans, dress and shorts also shown. Lasty the bag and playsuit would look great together as the fluro yellow picks out the yellow in the playsuit for a bright summery look.

I think the thing that makes these all so great is that the hair, make up and accessories styling is on point each time. My favourite has to be a toss up between Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba, so different but both amazing! Which dress is your favourite?

Beauty & Brains Tag

1.Favourite book - I'm not a massive reader, I have never been overly into books however I am currently on the last book of the hunger games series and I have loved all 3! Also when I was younger I loved Adolphus Tips by Michael Morpurgo and read it 3 times.




2.Favourite quotation - I wouldn't say I have a favourite quote but I think a good saying to live by is 'treat others how you would like to be treated'

3.English or Maths? - maths with out fail 300%. I absolutely suck at English, I think its a subject you cant really revise for,you just need a natural knack,which I did not possess. Maths on the other hand I guess you could say I do have a bit of a knack for, I'm hardly top of the class but I am doing it for a-levels.


4.Science or Art? - Definitely art, I didn't hate science though, I actually really enjoyed physics(pretty sure its because my teacher was an absolute legend, and her favourite program was 'the big bang theory'!), wasn't such a fan of biology or chemistry though!

5.Name five albums or musical artists that changed your life - I'm not a massive album listener I tend to listen more to single songs but albums/artists I like are.. Chris Brown, Rihanna, Rita Ora (ORA), Frank Ocean (Channel Orange), Miguel, Justin Timberlake.

6.Favourite & least favourite subjects at school- Least favourites...French, English, History (all 3 are horrendous) and favourite subjects...Art, Maths, Geography (my 3 a-levels!)

7.Favourite 'Celebrity with a Brain' - I don't really know how smart different celebrities are but I'm going to say Emma Watson because I know she studied or is studying at brown university.

8.If you could study anything anywhere, what would it be? Fashion Buying/Styling/Visual Merchandising in New York or LA.

9.What is your 'nerdy little secret'? - I love Lord of the Rings and Star Wars because they are insane. (been watching them since I was tiny with my dad and I'm so glad he made me watch them because they really are amazing)

10.Favourite beauty guru[s] who you admire for more than their love for beauty/fashion. -

Zoella (deals with anxiety) and Beauty Crush (overcame shyness) - but a lot of the draw my life videos really made me admire various YouTubers.

11.If your channel couldn't focus on beauty/fashion, what would it be? - Probably baking! :)

12.Name some things that you're obsessed with that other people would find strange or geeky.- YouTube and blogs, its not geeky but some people really don't get it.

13.Name five people [excluding family and friends] who inspire you. - Coco Channel, Giuliana Rancic, Sammi(Beauty Crush), Rhiannon(Fashion Rocks My Socks) and Taylor Swift.

14.Who is your fictional soul mate? - Ryan Gosling in Crazy stupid love.. don't really need to explain why do I?

My Best and Worst at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards...

This years MTV Movie Awards was held on Sunday 14th April in LA! Big winners included Rebel Wilson, Jamie Foxx and Bradley Cooper. Here are my best and worst dressed.

My Best

Young Hollywood definitely ruled the night, Selena Gomez (who also performed at the show) looked flawless in a gold, fringed micro mini and super high platforms. The hair styling is perfect, if it had been completely down it may have been too much and distracted from the intricate detailing on the dress. While Selena went for a young sparkly number, 15-year-old Kylie kept it plain, simple and sophisticated in neutrals. The styling is perfect! From nude pointed pumps( i'm guessing Louboutins) to the chunky gold chain giving the outfit an urban edge.

 

 

My Worst (warning not for the faint hearted)

They are both just awful. Starting with Kesha (who was presenting), there is just way too much going on, half of the outfit is gothic and the other half is hippy girly, I'm not sure what she was trying to achieve but it didn't work. Mind you sometimes I think her aim is just to get people to talk about her (you know what they say..no publicity is bad publicity). Then Hana Mae.. (yes that is a cigarette hat) for starters the dress is actually not a bad shape but the design and that ridiculous hat took this outfit from being bad to a joke.




All in all it wasn't a great year for fashion at the MTV Movie Awards, although I love my best dressed I had a lot more options for my worst! I will leave it at that...
